Beta version of the MSDN Wiki

What is this MSDN Wiki ? With it, you can see other’s footnotes and such, next to the documentation, and additional code samples.

Warning, this Wiki does not support Firefox yet. Darn, as expected from old MS.

When will you support FireFox?

For this release, we got to a point where we had to choose between making our editor work in FireFox and fixing some editor bugs causing content drop-out. Since the bugs in the latter category affected more users we decided to fix those and punt FireFox support to a future release. It’s high on our list of issues to address in the near future.

Microsoft has also announced the availability of the beta version of the MSDN Wiki, the company’s first step toward allowing customers to contribute to Microsoft’s developer documentation.

From the article: “It is purely a branding change, company officials said. The gist of the issue is that Microsoft has two successful developer brands in WinFX and .Net, and the company has seen 320,000 downloads of WinFX — and 700 signed GoLive licenses — since the December Community Technology Preview, and more than 35 million downloads of the .Net Framework since the November launch.”

On this site you can add content to VS 2005 documentation topics and edit contributions from other users. Our goal is to extend the documentation with code examples, tips and tricks, and other information that you add.
