Microsoft Limits Downloads for Vista

If you are getting this message when you try to download t he new Vista Beta 2, then you might want to try an alternative site. - Windows Vista Torrent . MS is also giving some bull by saying the won’t increase the bandwidth.

The standard version of the software takes up 3.5 gigabytes of memory – equivalent to more than 800 digital songs on Apple’s iTunes service. A second version, designed for 64-bit machines, runs to 4.4 gigabytes and takes five and a half hours to download even on a fast cable or DSL connection, according to Microsoft.

Several technology bloggers reported an instant message conversation with a Microsoft representative, who was quoted as saying: “We are literally saying that if we increased our bandwidth any further there’s a possibility of taking down the internet – people might have problems with World Cup viewing, etc.”

WinFS, Microsoft’s next-generation file system, is still churning its way through the beta process. But that isn’t stopping Microsoft from building a new information organizer that rides on top of WinFS storage and the Windows Presentation Framework.

Microsoft has also posted some job postings on this Project Orange. See below and find the post here

New Microsoft patches for Microsoft Exchange, Flash and Windows

Check out the new Microsoft patches for Microsoft Exchange, Flash and Windows.

Microsoft released three patches — two deemed critical — covering vulnerabilities in Microsoft Exchange, Flash and Windows.

Topping the list of security bulletins released as part of the software giant’s monthly “patch Tuesday” was a vulnerability in Microsoft Exchange Server.

The MS06-019 patch focuses on what Amol Sarwate, vulnerability manager for managed security firm Qualys, called an “old-school vulnerability,” able to skim e-mail addresses and propagate a worm.

The vulnerability could give attackers complete control of systems using Microsoft Exchange Server 2000 with the Exchange 2000 Post-Service Pack 3 Update Rollup and Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 with Service Pack 1 and 2.

New Microsoft System Center Service Desk and Virtualization manager Code-named Carmine

Wow. That’s the longest title I’ve ever posted on a blog. Well Microsoft is known to be pretty fancy and they like to come up with buggy software. I’m not very familiar with their “old” Systems Center Configuration Manager 2007 and Systems Center Operations Manager 2007 but they are already bringing out new software even tho 2007 is not over yet. Good luck to them as they eat away at the Call center help desk software market.

The System Center Service Desk is a “new member of the System Center family and a product that pulls [management] all together,” Muglia said, noting the platform will offer Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL)-based workflows and change control logic to enable IT administrators, business managers and end users to collaborate on processes that combine various System Center components.

The Service Desk, for example, will use the Windows Workflow Foundation in Windows Vista and server and will integrate knowledge and process-based logic from a simple, unified console IT administrators and partners can use.
